Leonardo Ambríz Estrada is a graphic designer born on December 8th, 1977 in Celaya, Guanajuato. At the age of 17, he moved to Guadalajara, Jalisco to study Graphic Design at the University of Guadalajara.
He started his professional experience in 1996 as an apprentice designer working with painter Paco de la Peña. He participated in projects related to the brand "Jalisco es México" for the Tourism Secretariat of Jalisco.
From 1998 to 1999, he served as a social service volunteer in the design area within the Coordination and Support for Municipalities Directorate of the Culture Secretariat of the Government of Jalisco. He developed publications, images, and advertising for cultural events and provided support for artistic development within the state.
In 2000-2002, he established his own design firm with friends from university, Imago, Gestión de Diseño. They focused mainly on web and multimedia development, serving clients such as the Government of the State of San Luis Potosí, Federación de Estudiantes de Guadalajara, and University of Guadalajara.
From 1999 to 2003, he worked intermittently at the Mantra Comunicación firm (now https://maus.mx) where he participated in projects for clients such as Tequila Herradura, Gatorade, Oxxo, Festival Internacional Cervantino, and Megacable.
In 2003, he joined Vértice Comunicación (https://verticecom.com) to be part of the web and multimedia department, developing projects for Honda de México, Acura, Cinépolis, Bansí, Maseca, Jugos del Valle, Sport City, Plaza del Sol, and Galería del Calzado.
He won the Gold Quorum Award 2004 in the Web category with the Honda de México website project.
In 2004, he launched the first version of his site, Canhijo.com, which was a finalist in the Navigation category at the 2004 Flash for Mexico awards.
From 2004 to 2005, he directed the web and multimedia department at Vértice Comunicación.
From 2005 to 2008, he served as the Art Director for the Honda de México account within Vértice Comunicación, developing designs, concepts, and advertising materials for the brand's car division at a national level.
From 2008 to 2009, he worked as the Design Area Manager at Vértice Comunicación.
From 2009 to 2014, he established the Loto Visual Lab firm to provide comprehensive communication, graphic design, and web design services to various local clients in Guadalajara such as El Chante Spa, La Casa de los Pancakes, IMSA, Encore Hotel Guadalajara, Construvida, Ballet Folclórico de la Universidad de Guadalajara, Guardabox, Mundo Hobby, and Vero Sáinz.
Starting in March 2014, he worked as a freelance designer under the name Tesla Estudio Digital to continue working with some clients from Loto Visual Lab. He provided digital strategy, electronic media marketing, social media, and web design services to local, national, and foreign clients.
His freelance work includes design projects for local and national artists such as Pepe Aguilar, Paco Rentería, Radaid, and La Pata Salada. He has participated in collaborative design projects such as Tiypo magazine.
He has given design conferences at congresses and student events in the cities of Querétaro, Celaya, and Guadalajara.
Since 2017, he has been collaborating with Estudio Autómata for their client Teleperformance, creating interior branding for call centers throughout Mexico, Florida, Idaho, Guatemala, San Salvador, and Costa Rica.
